Allawee transition FAQs
General
What is happening to Allawee?
Following Allawee’s acquisition by Paystack, we’re transitioning customers to Paystack’s platforms.
Personal customers can open an account on Zap, while business customers can open an account with Paystack Microfinance Bank.
When will deposits and withdrawals stop?
Allawee accounts will stop accepting deposits and supporting withdrawals on 1 December 2026. The Allawee app will remain (view only) available on app stores after this date.
Is my money safe?
Yes. Your money remains yours. We recommend withdrawing your full balance before 1 December 2026.
If you miss the deadline, your balance will be held securely with a record of what you’re owed. You can request it by contacting support, although this will be a manual process and may take longer.
Will my Allawee account be migrated automatically?
No. Your Allawee account will not be migrated.
Your account details, balance, transaction history and personal or business information will not transfer to Zap or Paystack Microfinance Bank. You’ll need to open a new account and complete onboarding.
Will my account number change?
Yes. You’ll receive new account details when you open your new account. Please update anyone who sends money to your Allawee account before 1 December.
Will payments sent to my Allawee account be forwarded?
No. Payments sent to your Allawee account after 1 December will not be forwarded and will fail. Please share your new account details with anyone who pays you.
Are there fees for withdrawing my balance?
Yes. Standard transfer fees will apply when you move money from Allawee to another bank account.
How do I withdraw my money?
Log in to Allawee and transfer your balance to your preferred bank account before 1 December 2026.
If you experience any problems, please contact support.
What happens if I don’t withdraw before the deadline?
Your money will not expire or be forfeited. Contact support to request your balance. You may need to verify your identity, and the payment will be processed manually.
What happens to my transaction history?
Your transaction history will not move to your new account. We recommend downloading a copy from Allawee before 1 December for your records.
What happens to my Allawee card?
Your Allawee card will be cancelled on 1 December 2026 and will no longer work from that date.
You can still raise card disputes or request refunds by contacting [email protected].
For personal customers
Where should I move my personal account?
You can continue managing your money with Paystack by downloading Zap and creating a new account here.
Will my Allawee balance move to Zap?

Will my beneficiaries or saved details move to Zap?
No. No Allawee data will be migrated. You’ll need to add your beneficiaries and other account information again.
What should I tell people who send me money?
Share your new Zap or alternative bank account details with family, employers and anyone else who regularly pays you. Payments sent to Allawee after 1 December may fail.
